When is Diwali 2020?
Saturday, 14 November
Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights falls this year on Saturday, the 14th of November, 2020. Just like Christmas to the rest of the world, Diwali is eagerly awaited by Hindus all over the world. It is both a religious and cultural festival that is celebrated from Kashmir, in the North of India to Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of India. Even the thought of Diwali enjoyed with new clothes, sweets, gifts and visits from friends and family, delights both children and adults equally.
It is also a time that businesses thrive and flourish, and a lot of money is spent on clothes, gold jewellery, silk sarees and other gifts. Shops are crowded with people even a month before Diwali. Latest designs in sarees and jewellery are released every year, especially for Diwali.
DIWALI COLLECTION OF SAREES AND JEWELLERY
During Diwali, Mahalakshmi is worshipped and thanked for all her blessings. Oil lamps are lit inside and outside the house to welcome Goddess Mahalakshmi. Ashtalakshmi lamps are commonly found in all Indian households and these lamps are cleaned, polished and lit for Diwali. It is believed that when Mahalakshmi lamps are lit, the Goddess herself comes to reside in the lamps and in the houses where they are lit.
When the houses are cleaned, walls white-washed, lamps cleaned and lit and also when the people in the houses are in clean, new clothes and gold jewellery, eating good food and be happy with family and friends, the vibration in the environment is extremely good and high. This good vibration further leads to better living standards and more happiness.
HAPPY DIWALI 2020!
