Srimad Bhagavatham Tamil
Srimad Bhagavatam is not merely a classic describing the stories of the Lord Mahavishnu and his devotees but is the essence of truth, the path to realization. It is said that not everyone can listen to Srimad Bhagavatam. Only if you have the grace of Lord Narayana, you will get the opportunity to listen to the whole of Bhagavatam.
Human existence is full of suffering. Actually, all existence in any form of life is full of suffering. Srimad Bhagavatam is the only way to attain Mukthi or Moksha (realization). Once we attain Mukthi, it is believed we do not have to be born again. Our soul merges with Lord Krishna and rests in eternal peace.
Usually, people in their death beds, people who know that their end is near will get someone to narrate Srimad Bhagavatam to them. Sometimes the near and dear ones of those people arrange for the narration of Bhagavatam. It does not mean that one should read or listen to Bhagavatam only towards the end of their life. If we have spent all our life, running after our material desires or being too attached to our family, spouses, children, then, at least towards the end of our life, we should spend our time reciting or listening to the Bhagavatam.
Most of us do not know when our end is going to be. Death comes at 6 and at 60 too. Therefore, we should start listening or reciting Bhagavatam as early in life as possible.
Srimad Bhagavatam gives the answer to who we actually are and the purpose of human life is God-realisation, which is nothing but the realization of self.
